Breve storia della competizione

La Coppa del Galles, vero nome Welsh Cup, e' un torneo organizzato dalla FA of Wales (Football Association of Wales), si svolge dal 1877/78 e partecipano a questa manifestazione le squadre gallesi anche di categoria inferiore. La vincente della competizione  si qualifica alla successiva edizione dell' Europa League, mentre fino al 1998, la vincente della Coppa del Galles partecipava alla Coppa delle Coppe
